Money laundering case FIA freezes all assets of Mons Elahi

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has frozen all the properties of Monis Elahi, son of former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, in a money laundering case. There was a big progress in the money laundering case against Monis Elahi in the Special Central Court of Lahore, FIA submitted the report in the court. The court issued a written order for the previous hearing of the money laundering case The court restrained further transfer of Mons Elahi’s frozen properties. The written order states that according to the report, Mons Elahi has been admonished by this court, while a red notice has been issued for the arrest of Mons Elahi.

It should be noted that on January 30, the court of Lahore declared Monis Elahi as an accomplice in the money laundering case. FIA Lahore had sent a letter to issue a red warrant for Munis Elahi through Interpol and the Special Court Central had also issued a perpetual arrest warrant for Mons Elahi. It should be noted that on October 3, 2023, the Lahore High Court dismissed the money laundering case against Monis Elahi, on December 8, the Supreme Court reinstated the FIR against Chaudhry Parvez Elahi’s son Chaudhry Monis Elahi on money laundering charges. FIA’s appeal was fixed for hearing.

It should be remembered that on June 6 last year, FIA filed a money laundering case against Mons Elahi, the FIA filed charges of corruption and money laundering in the case. According to the text of the FIR, Monis Elahi, as federal minister, committed billions of rupees in corruption in water reservoir projects and received crores of rupees as bribes. It was recorded in the case that Monis Elahi laundered money earned through corruption and bribery and deposited the funds into the accounts of his family and other accused persons through the frontman.

On July 22, the judicial magistrate’s court of Lahore issued a permanent arrest warrant against former federal minister Monis Elahi in the money laundering case.

On September 30, the Special Central Court of Lahore issued a bailable arrest warrant for Monis Elahi, son of former Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, in a money laundering case. After that, Special Court Central Judge Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh issued a non-bailable arrest warrant for Munis Elahi on November 3. Non-bailable arrest warrants are issued. Later, all of Mons Elahi’s bank accounts were frozen in the case.
