Maulana Fazlur Rehman Has Hinted At Quitting Parliamentary Politics

The leader of Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUIF), Maulana Fazlur Rehman, has alluded to exiting parliamentary politics, saying that the General Council has been advised to do so because our decisions are not made by the people but by an outside party. Speaking with private TV, Maulana Fazlur Rehman stated that the PTI delegation has visited previously and has always been respected, adding that what we seek is a setting conducive to dialogue and problem-solving.

According to him, the PTI members’ presence has generated a certain mood, but the two sides are not united; we have our positions, and they have theirs. He claimed that despite the twelve years of animosity between PTI and JUI, there is no wall separating them and crossing it is not simple. We have respectfully voiced our concerns to them.

According to Wilana Fazlur Rehman, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam has concerns about the nationwide elections as well as the PTI’s performance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. However, we are political people, not political men, when it comes to finding a solution. He doesn’t refuse to address the issue or engage in negotiations.

He said that in order to identify an election in which issues are brought up, we would hold the field meeting within the bounds of the law and the constitution. According to him, the present election has also gained controversy since 2018. The mandate was essentially the same in 2018. PPP and the Muslim League (N) were claiming at the time that it was rigged. They claim that the election was conducted with the same mandate today.

He continued, “I also let PTI members know that you have a mission that is nearly identical to mine.”

Maulana Fazlur Rehman went on to say, “We have started considering leaving parliamentary politics and have recommended to our General Council to do so. Why are we going into elections? Money and energy are being wasted, and we are for nothing.” All of these things happen when decisions are made by others rather than by us.

According to him, the field will make the decision if it’s not in the house. Instead of taking up arms, we must keep up our activity within the bounds of the law and the constitution in order to transform our nation into an Islamic welfare state.

In response to a query, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam stated that our demands were that the Chief Election Commissioner step down, take responsibility for his actions, acknowledge that he lacked the authority to declare a single result, and become a member of the establishment. We held hostages while rejecting the Election Commission’s claim of a transparent election process.
