ECP to review law and order situation in two provinces today

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani Election Commission has called a meeting to discuss the state of law and order in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The meeting is scheduled to be attended by the interim interior minister, the interior secretary, the chief secretaries and inspectors general of the two provinces, and representatives from intelligence agencies.

In a different development, after the regular printing of ballots is finished, some constituencies would begin to reprint ballots. According to the Commission, the capacity of the printing press and the availability of special security paper determine whether ballots can be reprinted.

The meeting was informed that in the event that special security paper was not available in the necessary quantity, the commission would be left with no choice but to postpone the election in those constituencies.
