LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz, senior vice-president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and a candidate for the Punjab chief minister position, hastened her preparations to lead the nation’s largest province. Maryam Nawaz was briefed on provincial concerns by senior administrators, including the chief secretary of Punjab. She was also briefed by Secretary Ali Jan of Health.

In the history of the nation, she will be the first female chief minister of Punjab. The sources claimed that she was also informed about the operations of the different departments by the secretaries of the Works, Communication, and Excise departments. The Chief Minister nominee was informed by the secretaries of both the education department.

“More secretaries are expected to brief her today,” the sources stated, emphasizing that the new government’s working policy would be decided upon after that.

The sources stated that a session of the Punjab Assembly would be called following the effective notification of the elected members, which is required by February 29. After that, a new Punjabi government would be established and Maryam Nawaz would be formally elected as the province’s chief minister.
